Hello David!

Andrew and I wanted to thank you again for your great work on our wedding day! You were a pleasure to work with from begining to end. It was so great to hear some of our favorite music being played, and we also think the rest of your music selection was wonderful. Andrew said that every time his father heard a song he liked, he would say, “Oh, he’s playing my music!” Some of our friends also told us they really enjoyed the music and had a great time dancing. Finally, thanks for playing “Gangnam Style” twice–everyone totally loved dancing to it!

If we know anyone who is looking for DJ recommendations, I will definitely recommend that they check out Expressway Music, and personally recommend you. I also plan on sharing an online review of your great work shortly, and was wondering if you have any preference as to which website I should submit the review to?

Jennifer

Hi David,

I can not thank you enough for creating a fabulously fun dance party at the wedding. Dave and I had a blast, and, as you may or may not have been able to see from where you were standing, danced the ENTIRE time. Most surprising – all of our guests were dancing too. Even my parents friends. I couldn’t believe how many stayed until the very end.

I would be more than happy to give a reference or write a review if you need one in the future.

Thank you so much,
Julie

Hi Dan,

Thanks so much for being a part of our day also! You did an amazing job with the music, and really kept the party going! We’ve received so many compliments on the music and how great you were as our DJ, so we really appreciate it. I’m glad you had a good time – we had a really great time too, and I definitely think that the dancing was one of the best parts of the night!

We’ll definitely keep you in mind for any other events or parties we have coming up in the future (I’m keeping my fingers crossed that my sister’s boyfriend will be proposing soon, so maybe we’ll have another wedding in the near future) :o ).

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

All the best,

Crystal

Hi David,

Apologies for the delayed response.

Thank you so much for making our wedding so wonderful! We were beyond thrilled with the music and cannot thank you enough for keeping our guests on the dance floor. You played such a fun mix of music and, as you noticed, our guests loved it. It was a party!

We would be happy to complete the reviews. You and your team have been incredible to work with and we are so grateful!

Best,

Gina

Hey Expressway,

I just wanted to thank everyone for helping me out with the party on Saturday.  I know it was short notice, but my wife had a blast, and a 30th birthday she will never forget.  Dan, really embraced the crowd and killed it.  We will certainly recommend your company moving forward, and when we have our end of the year rugby banquet, we will certainly reach out to this company again.

Thanks again,

Jeff

Dear David,

We just wanted to say a quick thank you before we took off for our honeymoon. We received so many compliments about the music at the wedding as well as your MC skills. Both the cocktail hour and reception felt so personalized, it was obvious you made a real effort to incorporate all of our conversations into that day. Catch my fall & Sea of love were both big hits. You also handled all of our person requests with grace and ease. I think you made my grandfathers decade by playing that Connie Francis song for him again. I cannot tell you how proud he was of making that moment happen.
Thank you for all of the time and effort you put into making our wedding day special. It was noticed and appreciated.

With love,

Angela

David -

All I can say is that you were absolute perfection last night. I know it was about a million degrees but you kept everything moving and had people on the dance floor, which was no easy feat with the heat. I loved working with you, and Kevin and I could not be more pleased with the great music.

Thank you so much!!!

Best,
Danielle and Kevin

Hey Dave,

Keith and I are back from our honeymoon and getting settled in. We had an AMAZING time in Tahiti, Moorea, and Bora Bora and are convinced we have seen heaven on earth.

As you can imagine, I am swamped with things to catch up on. But I wanted to make sure one of the first things I did was contact you to thank you for making our wedding reception at Patriot Hills on July 18 such a resounding success.

Keith and I went through an extremely painful process of finding a DJ. There was the guy who patted our shoulders and told us not to worry, he’d “get the crowd going with a little ‘Celebration’” (and then he listed the next five songs he’d play—the same tired tunes we’ve heard at every other wedding). There was the young, spiky-haired guy who assured us he “specializes in weddings” and then proudly showed us videos of Sweet 16s, in which we couldn’t tell him apart from the guests. There was the guy who wanted to turn our reception into Sound Factory circa the ’90s. I could go on and on. We were getting really stressed out and starting to lose hope.

Then one day I came across your listing in New York magazine and checked out your website. I could tell that you would be classy, cool, unobtrusive, and not at all cheesy: no non-stop shouting into the microphone, no “Electric Slide” or conga lines, no wacky light shows. I excitedly called Keith, who, after speaking with you, called me back and said, “We HAVE to get this guy!”

And we are SO glad we did!!! First of all, working with you in the time leading up to the wedding was SUCH a pleasure. We’d leave your office with dopey smiles on our faces, saying “Dave is SO AWESOME!” We could tell you really knew your stuff and had great taste in music. Plus, you were just a fun, laid-back, super nice guy.

And when the reception came, you did not disappoint. You did such an amazing job reading our crowd and keeping people on their feet all night. People told us afterward that it was so refreshing to see a bride and groom dance so much at their own reception.

We could also tell you had really listened to us, because you indulged our musical requests. I did notice that the very first song during dinner was an Alicia Keys track, and that you snuck in a few John Legend songs throughout the courses. My cousin, who literally has NEVER danced — EVER — was sweating through his maroon shirt because he was on his feet all night. He didn’t believe me when I said you would play “Electric Avenue” for him, but you came through. And Keith almost fell off his chair when you pulled out the very obscure “Good Timin’” by the Beach Boys during the main course.

But most importantly, we appreciated that we didn’t NEED to give you too many requests because we completely trusted you to play great music. And you really did. People are still talking about how awesome it was that you played House of Pain’s “Jump Around.” (I never imagined I would find myself jumping up and down in a wedding gown and heels with one arm straight up in the air.) You played so many great ’80s tunes (Michael Jackson, Billy Idol). And did you see how everyone went absolutely NUTS when you played Chumbawumba?

You were amazing, Dave, and we appreciate it so much. We cannot thank you enough for doing such a spectacular job. Keith and I have really enjoyed getting to know you, and we really hope we can keep in touch! Where did you say you do the karaoke parties again?

Hope you’re having a good week!

- Jennifer

P.S. If you are still reading this ridiculously long email, could you send me that photo your assistant took of me with you (if you still have it)? Thanks!

David,

You are awesome and there is a buzz going on around the firm about the “excellent DJ that we had at the party last night”.

I just want you to know that you can use me as an enthusiastic reference any day of the week.  Also, I gave our Director of HR your contact information in case he needs to do anything firm wide that I might not be involved with.  I also told him that should he want to use your services, I would be very happy to coordinate all of the necessary with him/you.

Thank you so much!  The party is nothing but food if the DJ isn’t rocking the house.  And which you surely did.

Best to you,

Hi, David!
We have been hearing raves about the music – and with good reason! The whole evening surpassed and exceeded all of our hopes and expectations. What a BLAST! It was an incredible night for us – and our families and friends – and people are already saying that they’ll be talking about it for years to come! You were such an important part of our wedding and I am so happy that I found you – and that you were available!! I’m so glad you enjoyed yourself – it showed in your work and it made the evening even that much more successful.

Thank-YOU for your professionalism, kindness, and enthusiasm (Charissa, too!!!) – and I will eagerly recommend you to anyone who ever asks!

Sincerely,
Nicole and Jim

Hi David,

We had a great time!  Thank you so much for everything.  The wedding was perfect.  We are in Spain and Eddie is passed out on the beach.  He couldn´t figure out why his legs were so sore the first two days.  I had to remind him that he was jumping off the stage at certain points of the wedding.
David you were great, you totally understood the crowd and us!
Keep in touch
Best,
Debbie

Dan,

Thanks so much for your note and for that amazing job you did at the wedding!  I’ve been to several weddings and the music always makes such a huge difference in the way the party unfolds. You really did an incredible job. Is there somewhere you’d suggest we go online – where you get a lot of referrals from or something – that we could put a positive review for Expressway and you?

Thanks again for everything.

Best,
John & Molley

Dan,

I don’t know if Clare already responded to your email. I just wanted to
let you know what a wonderful job you did considering our minimal input.
Slowly, but steadily, you worked the crowd into a dancing machine. I
don’t know how we could have pulled it off without you. Hopefully I can
create a reason for an event that requires your skills. All the best,
and thank you for everything.

Regards,

Hunter

Hi Dave,

Are you surviving this mini-heatwave?  This past Friday we worked with a great DJ @ Studio 450.  This guy was professional, courteous, low-key, genuinely sweet, and was able to make subtle and flowing announcements without breaking the party.  I asked this DJ for his card because I thought we could refer some couples to him and when he handed me his card it all became very clear…  DJ Alberto from Expressway Music.  That explains it all!

We truly enjoyed working with Alberto and hope to see more of him in the near future.  Hope all is well and the Summer Wedding Season is treating you kindly.

See you soon.

DJ Alberto,

Know that I have recovered from my drunken stupor, acquired during the after party, thank you so much for doing such an excellent job at my wedding!  The music was absolutely perfect!  You were really wonderful!  The wedding was a whirl wind and way too short!  (Just like you said).  At the end of the night I wanted to dance more and more and I didn’t want it to be over!)  I wanted to talk to you, and take at least a picture with you, but I didn’t get a chance!  Tuzinho said you were interested in trying capoeira and it would be awesome for you to come!  Thank you so much for making my party one no one will forget!

In fact you were so wonderfully that friends who are having a wedding soon, in November I think,  that were not able to come, texted me the next day asking for Expressway’s info to hopefully book you!    They already heard from the guests what a great job you did!
Thank you!
Thank you!
Thank you!

You were perfect!

Hi David,

Thank you and Dan, you guys were great. Hannah had a fantastic time & so did we. Everyone was so kind and at the top of their game, it made the evening a huge success.

I think the band had a blast, they don’t get the chance to play out much & they all love to play.

We feel incredibly lucky to have had the space and everyone who joined in to make it all work. Hannah does have a pretty great group of friends, thanks for saying.

I will happily recommend Expressway, you are pros and lovely people.

Thanks again. Amy, Matt & Hannah

Dear David and Dan:

This email is at least 24 hours overdue, but we were almost as wiped out yesterday as we were when we got home from the party Saturday evening, and this is the first time since Saturday that I feel as though my brain is functioning sufficiently well to send you this email.

We are all so incredibly grateful for the job you two, Jesse and the motivators did in making the party SO MUCH FUN.  We have been innundated with calls and emails since Saturday night telling us how super everything was, and you were signaled out all the time for special mention.  Everything you did was right, from the tone Dan set with the kids and the way you interracted with them, to Jesse’s music and the way he invited guests (including, it seemed, the entire boy contingent) to play with him, to David’s terrific mix of music, with current stuff blended in totally with older favorites.  The hora was the right length and in the right spot, the raffle was well done (and I definitely appreciate the stand Dan took with the two boys who misbehaved) and the flow of things felt really, really good.

Mostly, though, thank you for how lovely you were with our daughters.  Samantha and Charlotte, who, as I think you figured out, are very different, both enjoyed their time with you and felt incredibly comfortable with you.  That’s a pretty significant fact for us.  They both had such a good time, as did all of their friends and all of us, and we know that this is in large part due to your work and skill and the simply terrific job you did.

Please extend our thanks to Charissa as well.  We will miss being in touch with you, but Charlotte’s bat mitzvah will be here before we know it!!

Thanks again, we really are so grateful.

Cindy and Matt
