Subject: happy holidays!
hi-
a true story:
i couldn’t figure out who my girlfriend used for a dj this weekend at
her son’s bar mitzvah reception at florentine gardens
but they were exactly, precisely what i sought to avoid in hiring you.
the adults brought their own earplugs, the music was positively awful,
the motivators were invasive and offensive. terrible prizes were
literally just thrown out to the kids for subjective reasons like who
sang the loudest. most of the time the kids were encouraged to just jump
straight up and down. there was too much structure for the adults: we
were told when to clap and then to clap louder. the mc yelled, yes
yelled, at anyone still sitting in their seat at several points. the dj
claimed he “loved” the mom making the party and that she was the
“gorgeous” hostess and her dress was “unbelievable” a few thousand too
many times (she is my friend, but let’s just say, the claims lacked
credibility). the bar mitzvah boy entered between two of the female
dancers and they literally were bumping and grinding into him and then
kissing and crawling on him. i began to wish they would play coke and
pepsi with the kids, they did snowball and although that was not my
choice, it went okay. according to lexi, the motivators were telling the
bored boys to go up to the adults and “act like strippers and
homosexuals”. i am not kidding. they also told lexi that one of them was
cousins with A.Rod and when she and a boy went to ask questions, it
became clear it was a lie. that motivator told lexi that the other guy
was cousins with michael jackson. by then lexi got the joke, but some of
the boys went over and still were asking questions….
and i don’t know if they used the same company for photos, but i have
never seen a photographer and videographer with such an attitude! they
made me feel positively horrible with their dirty looks for even
thinking that the family might want a photo of the three of us, but
would rather stand around not taking any pictures or video for large
stretches of time….
so if i haven’t pledged undying love and loyalty before, here it is in
black and white: thank you for the professionalism and service provided
by you and your staff- worth every penny : )
best wishes,
karen
